Why do we yoyo ?
Our new exploration at At Design Lab began with this simple, yet essential question. We believe the answer connects to a deep-seated insight within the hearts of modern people.
The persona we adopt at work, the one we have at home, the one we show our friends. Day by day, we live our lives fulfilling the various roles required of us by society.
But in the midst of this daily life, there are moments that arrive unexpectedly—a time and space for ourselves, undisturbed by anyone.
In that quiet space, through the medium of a yoyo, we face our true selves.
Sometimes, we feel a tangible sense of our own growth. At other times, we simply converse with our inner self.
We came to see the yoyo as a partner for those of us living in this modern age.

The Design philosophy of "I"
Just as we fulfill various roles in our daily lives, a yoyo also fulfills various roles. "I" is a model that deeply embraces this essential value of the yoyo, created with two different materials in the exact same shape.
It is a new concept: a "dialogue with the self," where you choose your partner for conversation based on your state of mind and the feeling you seek in that moment.
I TITANIUM
For the "Challenger" within you, who seeks to draw out the yoyo's fundamental performance to its absolute limit and hone your skills. The rigid, luxurious feel of titanium will support your growth, bringing with it supreme focus and a tangible sense of accomplishment the moment you land a trick.
I ALUMINUM
For those moments when you wish to gently interact with your yoyo and spend time clearing your mind. The soft, mild feel of aluminum gently accepts you, inviting you into a calm state of flow where your thoughts seem to melt away.

Respect for History: The Homage
To give form to this concept of a "dialogue with the self," we began by paying respect to the legendary masterpieces sleeping in the annals of yoyo history.

Anti-yo BSP
Appearing on the scene in 2008 as Anti-yo's first titanium yoyo, the BSP was the final model released during their activities in the 2000s. Its iconic two-tone color and the single groove engraved in the hub are etched into the memories of many players. This groove originates from a unique structure born from the dawn of the metal yoyo era. It was a time when all brands were still searching for the optimal axle system, and the BSP employed a one-of-a-kind mechanism where a coin was inserted into the hub's groove to tighten the axle. Despite its heavyweight 71g body, its presence and the story behind it made it a yoyo that everyone yearned for.

Anti-yo Kuntosh
An elusive model whose prototype was made in 2010 but was not immediately released. While inheriting the BSP's symbolic flat rim shape, it evolved to have a more modern playfeel by completely rethinking the axle system and the overall spec balance. After many years, the Kuntosh was officially released in 2016 and remains a masterpiece beloved by many to this day.
Respect for History: Reconstructing a Legend

Inheriting an Iconic Design
"I" inherits the iconic hub coloring and groove design of the BSP. However, its structure is modernized. In the original, the hub itself played the role of the axle, but in "I," we have updated it to a modern cap structure without compromising the design's integrity. Titanium has a high specific gravity, and if we had kept the original structure, the center would have become too heavy, spoiling the comfortable playfeel. We therefore adopted a hollow hub structure, maintaining the iconic appearance while appropriately distributing weight to the center. The result is a curiously pleasant feeling, allowing you to faintly sense the unique floatiness characteristic of a hollow structure.

Beautiful Flat-rim Shape
The flat rim structure, passed down from the BSP/Kuntosh, is a timeless and perfected design for efficiently generating spin power. With "I," we have maximized this shape's potential, securing ample spin power and stability within a modern, lightweight 62g body. Titanium and aluminum. It is not a question of which is superior. Our goal was for you to feel and enjoy the unique character of each material with your own heart, here in the present day.

Signature coating
Beyond its stylish color options, the distinctive surface treatment of our classic models left a lasting impression. With the I series, we analyzed these coatings and developed two finishes—Smooth Ultimatte and Vintage—to perfectly capture the high-end matte look and smooth touch that appeals to collectors.

Modern Playability with a Nod to the Past
The original Ir-pad, known for their wide surface area, offered reliable “throw-out” and “return” performance despite being less refined than modern slim pads. For the I series, we integrated At Design Lab’s Silky Pad—compatible with A-rt/CLYW sizing—to achieve an equally satisfying throw and return experience.
While retaining the DNA of Anti-yo BSP and Kuntosh, we significantly lightened the overall design and comfort of modern play without sacrificing the nostalgic vibe of the originals.

Coating Lineup

Raw (TITANIUM)
A finish designed for you to experience the pure, inherent beauty of raw titanium. Its quiet luster, reminiscent of fine jewelry, most beautifully accentuates the original two-tone color that pays homage to its inspiration.
Compared to the Smooth Ultimatte Coating, its feel is more solid and direct. The spin, which seems to know no decay even late into play, truly embodies the concept of the I TITANIUM as the "Challenger."

Smooth Ultimatte Coating (TITANIUM)
The I TITANIUM is finished with our At Design Lab signature, the Smooth Ultimatte Coating. In exchange for a slight compromise in late-game spin, a unique softness and tranquility is born within the characteristically hard resonance of titanium.
If the Raw finish offers a straightforward dialogue, this coating provides a one-of-a-kind experience for players who seek a more complex and profound sensation in their dialogue with the self.

Vintage Coating (ALUMINUM)
We created this finish because we aimed for that specific texture of American-made yoyos of the past—somehow warm, yet easy to use.
The I ALUMINUM is finished with this Vintage Coating. Its nostalgic and gentle touch is in perfect harmony with the calm, introspective time that the I ALUMINUM provides. Beneath its premium appearance lies the essence of a reliable playfeel, making it one of the most popular coatings from At Design Lab.
